The New York Giants selected DT Markus Kuhn out of North Carolina State with the 239th overall pick (7th round) of the 2012 NFL Draft. Kuhn is 6’5″, 299 pounds. Kuhn is going to be a developmental project for the Giants. He is pretty raw as a football player, so the Giants’ coaches are going to have their work cut out with him. Kuhn played in 13 games for North Carolina State last year and he had 45 tackles, 9.5 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks and 3 passes broken up. He played in 48 games in his first four years at North Carolina State and he had 115 tackles, 18.5 tackles for a loss, 8.5 sacks, 8 passes broken up and 4 forced fumbles. This pick was a reach for the Giants.

The New York Giants have selected OT Brandon Mosley out of Auburn with the 131st overall pick (4th round) of the 2012 NFL Draft. Mosley is 6’5″, 318 pounds. He is a converted TE, so he’s pretty light on his feet for a player his size. That helps when he will need to get to the second level and hit a moving target. He likes to beat his opponent to the punch, but the Giants are going to need him to get more explosive as he doesn’t play with a lot of power yet. Mosley played in 13 games (all starts) at Auburn last year. He played in 38 games (35 starts) in three years (two at Auburn and one at Coffeyville (Kansas) Community College) in college. The Giants are going to have to coach up Mosley a bit before he’s ready for action, but he could be a starter down the road.

The New York Giants selected WR Rueben Randle out of LSU with the 63rd overall pick (2nd round) of the 2012 NFL Draft. Randle is 6’4, 205 pounds and he runs a 4.45 40. Randle is a solid all-around WR. He is a solid run blocker and he can get down the field to make the big play in the passing game. Randle played in 14 games (12 starts) for LSU last year and he caught 53 passes for 917 yards (17.3 avg) with 8 TD grabs. He played in 40 games (25 starts) in his three years at LSU and he caught 97 passes for 1,634 yards (16.8 avg) with 13 TD grabs. This was a great pick for the Giants, as Randle will essentially replace Mario Manningham in 2012. Randle has a huge upside and he’s likely going to be a solid WR for the Giants for a long time.

The New York Giants have selected RB David Wilson out of Virginia Tech with the 32nd overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft. Wilson is 5’9″, 205 pounds and he’s lightning fast as he runs a 4.45 40. Wilson is not a power runner, but he can go the distance any time he touches the ball due to his nice blend of speed and moves. Wilson played in 14 games (all starts) for Virgina Tech last year and he carried the ball 290 times for 1,709 yards (5.9 ypc) with 9 TD runs. He also caught 22 passes for 129 yards (5.9 avg) with 1 TD grab last year. Wilson played in 40 games (16 starts) in his three years at Virginia Tech and he carried the ball 462 times for 2,662 yards (5.8 ypc) with 18 TD runs. He also caught 37 passes for 363 yards (9.8 ypc) with 5 TD grabs in college. Wilson will team with Ahmad Bradshaw to keep the Giants’ running game purring in 2012 and beyond.
