San Francisco 49ers 27, New York Giants 20
The New York Giants battled hard yesterday, but in the end, they weren’t as good as the 49ers were. Eli Manning was solid as he completed 26 of 40 passes for 311 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 INTs. Brandon Jacobs rushed for 55 yards on 18 carries (3.1 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 17 yards (8.5 avg) in this game. D.J. Ware pitched in with 34 yards on 9 carries (3.8 ypc) and he also caught 5 passes for 34 yards (6.8 avg). WRs Victor Cruz (6 rec, 84 yards), Mario Manningham (6 rec, 77 yards, TD) and Hakeem Nicks (2 rec, 41 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Giants. The Giants finished up with 93 yards rushing on 29 carries (3.2 ypc) and they also completed 26 of 40 passes (65%) for 302 yards as they had possession of the ball for 34:37.
The Giants D played pretty good despite what it says on the scoreboard. Safeties Kenny Phillips (5 tackles, 1 pass defensed) and Antrel Rolle (5 tackles and 1 pass defensed) led the way for the Giants in this game. CB Corey Webster pitched in with 3 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception yesterday. The 49ers finished up with 77 yards rushing on 20 carries (3.9 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 30 passes (63.3%) for 228 yards. The Giants are still in first place in the NFC East with a 6-3 record.
