The Giants had some unlikely stars in yesterday’s NFC Championship Game.  To me, the star of the game was WR Devin Thomas as he recovered 2 fumbles that led directly to 10 points and the game winning field goal by Lawrence Tynes.  Eli Manning had a very solid game as he completed 32 of 58 passes for 316 yards with 2 TD passes and 0 INTs.  Ahmad Bradshaw led the way on the ground yesterday with 74 yards rushing on 20 carries (3.7 ypc).  He also caught 6 passes for 52 yards (8.7 avg) last night.  Brandon Jacobs pitched in with 5 carries for 13 yards (2.6 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 8 yards.  WR Victor Cruz had another huge game to lead the way for the Giants in the passing game yesterday when he caught 10 passes for 142 yards.  Hakeem Nicks (5 rec, 55 yards), Mario Manningham (1 rec, 17 yards, TD) and TE/FB Bear Pascoe (1 rec, 6 yards, TD) also helped out in the passing game yesterday.  The Giants finished up with 85 yards rushing on 26 carries (3.3 ypc) and they also completed 32 of 58 passes (55.2%) for 267 yards as they had possession of the ball for 39:36.

The defense was good against the pass, but not so good against the running game yesterday.  LB Chase Blackburn (7 tackles) and DE Jason Pierre-Paul (6 tackles, 1/2 a sack, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 pass defensed and 1 QB hit) led the way for the Giants in this game.  The 49ers finished up with 150 yards rushing on 28 carries (5.4 ypc) and they also completed 12 of 26 passes (46.2%) for 178 yards.  The Giants now have a rematch of the last Super Bowl they won with the New England Patriots.

The New York Giants whacked the Packers pretty good today in Lambeau Field as they played an almost perfect game.  Eli Manning was sharp tonight as he completed 21 of 33 passes for 330 yards with 3 TD passes and 1 INT.  Ahmad Bradshaw led the way on the ground for the Giants in this game with 12 carries for 63 yards (5.3 ypc).  He also caught 3 passes for 21 yards (7.0 avg).  Brandon Jacobs pitched in with 9 carries for 22 yards (2.4 ypc) with 1 TD run tonight.  WR Hakeem Nicks led the way for the Giants in this game with 7 grabs for 165 yards (23.6 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  WRs Victor Cruz (5 rec, 74 yards) and Mario Manningham (3 rec, 31 yards, TD) also pitched in for the Giants in this game.  The Giants finished up with 95 yards rushing on 27 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 33 passes (63.6%) for 325 yards as they had possession of the ball for 29:35.

The Giants gave up a lot of yards in this game but they kept taking the ball away from the Packers, setting up good starting field position for Eli Manning and the offense.  LB Michael Boley (9 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 tackles for a loss, 1 pass defensed and 2 QB hits) and safety Antrel Rolle (8 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 fumble recovery) led the way for the Giants’ D in this game.  Safety Deon Grant (6 tackles, 2 passes defensed, 1 fumble recovery and 1 interception), LB Chase Blackburn (3 tackles and 1 fumble recovery) and DE Osi Umenyiora (2 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 tackle for a loss and 2 QB hits) also pitched in for the Giants in this game with big plays.  The Packers finished up with 147 yards rushing on 23 carries (6.4 ypc) and they also completed 26 of 46 passes (56.5%) for 241 yards in this game.  The Giants have advanced to the NFC Championship Game which will be held in San Francisco next weekend.

The Giants scored 15 points in the last 5:41 of the game last night to take the lead on the Cowboys.  DE Jason Pierre-Paul blocked a field goal on the last play of the game to seal the win for the Giants.  Eli Manning was amazing as he completed 27 of 47 passes for 400 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 interception.  Brandon Jacobs was running like a man possessed with 101 yards rushing on 19 carries (5.3 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  WRs Hakeem Nicks (7 rec, 154 yards) and Victor Cruz (7 rec, 83 yards) led the way for the Giants in the passing game last night.  WR Mario Manningham (2 rec, 62 yards) and TE Jake Ballard (4 rec, 52 yards, TD) also made big catches for the Giants in this game.  The Giants finished up with 110 yards rushing on 31 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 27 of 47 passes (57.4%) for 400 yards as they had possession of the ball for 34:19.

Green Bay Packers 38, New York Giants 35

The Giants’ offense was outstanding yesterday, but the defense was no match for Aaron Rodgers and his Packers.  The Giants tied this game up with only 58 seconds left in this game.  Rodgers then drove his team down the field to set up kicker Mason Crosby for a rather easy 31 yard field goal as time expired.  Eli Manning completed 23 of 40 passes for 347 yards with 3 TD passes and 1 interception in this game.  Brandon Jacobs led the way on the ground for the Giants in this game with 8 carries for 59 yards (7.4 ypc) with 1 TD run.  Ahmad Bradshaw pitched in with 11 carries for 38 yards (3.5 ypc) in this game.  WRs Victor Cruz (7 rec, 119 yards) and Hakeem Nicks (7 rec, 88 yards, 2 TDs) led the way for the Giants in the passing game yesterday.  TEs Travis Beckum (1 rec, 67 yards, TD) and Jake Ballard (3 rec, 47 yards) also had solid games for the Giants yesterday.  The Giants finished up with 100 yards rushing on 20 carries (5.0 ypc) and they also completed 23 of 40 passes (57.5%) for 347 yards as they had possession of the ball for 26:57.

The defense was good against the run, but Aaron Rodgers’ and his receivers shredded the Giants’ secondary in this game.  DT Linval Joseph led the way for the Giants on D in this game with 9 tackles and 1 tackle for a loss.  LBs Jacquian Williams (8 tackles and 1 pass defensed) and Chase Blackburn (7 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception) also had solid games for the Giants.  The Packers finished up with 89 yards rushing on 28 carries (3.2 ypc) and they also completed 28 of 47 passes (59.6%) for 360 yards.  The Giants are now 6-6 on the season.

New Orleans Saints 49, New York Giants 24

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by admin on Tuesday 29 November 2011 at 2:38 pm

The Giants never had a chance last night as the Saints took them behind the woodshed!  Eli Manning’s numbers look good but he got most of them in the 4th quarter when the game was essentially over.  He completed 33 of 47 passes for 406 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 INT.  Brandon Jacobs led the way on the ground for the Giants in this game with 46 yards rushing on 13 carries (3.5 ypc) with 1 TD run.  D.J. Ware pitched in with 23 yards rushing on 5 carries (4.6 ypc) and he also caught 8 passes for 45 yards (5.6 avg) in this game.  WR Victor Cruz had another very solid game for the Giants and he caught 9 passes for 157 yards (17.4 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  Hakeem Nicks pitched in with 7 grabs for 87 yards (12.4 avg) in this game.  The Giants finished up with 73 yards rushing on 22 carries (3.3 ypc) and they completed 33 of 47 passes (70.2%) for 392 yards as they had possession of the ball for 31:28.

The defense absolutely sucked for the Giants last night.  DE Jason Pierre-Paul (6 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 QB hit), safety Antrel Rolle (6 tackles) and safety Kenny Phillips (6 tackles) led the way for the Giants’ “D” last night.  The Saints finished up with 205 yards rushing on 30 carries (6.8 ypc) and they also completed 25 of 39 passes (64.1%) for 372 yards last night.  The Giants are now 6-5 on the season.

The New York Giants got outplayed last night, plain and simple.  Eli Manning had a rough time last night as he completed 18 of 35 passes for 264 yards with 1 TD pass, 1 interception and a very costly lost fumble.  Brandon Jacobs couldn’t find any running room against the Eagles last night.  He carried the ball 12 times for 21 yards (1.8 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 11 yards (3.7 avg).  WR Victor Cruz (6 rec, 128 yards, TD) and Hakeem Nicks (3 rec, 69 yards) led the way in the passing game for the Giants in this game.  The Giants finished up with 29 yards rushing on 17 carries (1.7 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 35 passes (51.4%) for 249 yards as they only had possession of the ball for 23:42.

The defense bent but didn’t break a lot in this game last night.  OLB Mathias Kiwanuka (7 tackles and 3 tackles for a loss) and safety Kenny Phillips (6 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception) led the way for the Giants on D last night.  CBs Prince Amukamara (5 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception) and Aaron Ross (5 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception) also pitched in for the Giants.  The Eagles finished up with 136 yards rushing on 33 carries (4.1 ypc) and they also completed 23 of 36 passes (63.9%) in this game.  The Giants are now 6-4 on the year.
