The New York Giants have signed 29-year old DT Rocky Bernard.  Bernard is a run stuffing tackle who also gets a good push up the middle against the pass.  He played in 15 games for the Seahawks last season in which he made 55 tackles, defensed 1 pass, had 4 sacks and forced a fumble.  Bernard has now played in 103 games in his NFL career and he has made 281 tackles, defensed 13 passes, has 29 sacks and he has forced 4 fumbles.  Adding Bernard and Boley should really help out the interior of the Giants’ defense for the 2009 season and beyond.

The New York Giants sign linebacker Michael Boley

The Giants have signed 26-year old linebacker Michael Boley to a 5-year, $25 million dollar contract.  Boley played in all 16 games for the Falcons last season and he made 73 tackles, defensed 9 passes and he had 1 interception.  Boley has now played in 64 games in his NFL career resulting in 330 tackles, 27 passes defensed, 6 sacks, 6 forced fumbles and 5 interceptions.  This was a great move for the Giants as Boley will add needed toughness against the running game of the opposing teams in 2009 and beyond.
