The Giants drafted for need in the first round and that’s why they selected Kenny Phillips.  Phillips is 6’1″, 210 pounds and he loves to support the run but he’s a tad slow running a 4.55 40.  He seems to be more of a strong safety type but the Giants might need him at free safety.  Phillips played in 34 games (33 starts) for Miami (Fla) and he made 241 tackles, broke up 15 passes, had 7 interceptions, forced 3 fumbles and recovered a fumble.  Grabbing Phillips was a good move for the World Champs.
