New York Giants 23, Green Bay Packers 20 in OT

Things were looking bad at the end of regulation for the Giants as Lawrence Tynes missed two straight fields goals including one as time was expiring.  But he redeemed himself in OT as he made CB Corey Webster’s interception of Brett Favre in OT stand up.  The Giants advance to the Super Bowl with a rematch with the Patriots who the Giants gave all they could handle in the last week of the regular season.  Eli Manning continued his solid post season play as he completed 21 of 40 passes for 254 yards.  Brandon Jacobs rushed for 67 yards on 21 carries (3.2 ypc) with a TD run.  Ahmad Bradshaw shared the running game with Jacobs as he carried the ball 16 times for 63 yards (3.9 ypc) with a TD run.  Plaxico Burress had an outstanding game as he caught 11 passes for 154 yards (14.0 avg).  Amani Toomer pitched in with 4 grabs for 42 yards (10.5 avg).  The Giants finished up with 134 yards rushing on 39 carries (3.4 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 40 passes for 246 yards.

The Giants really played well, especially in the second half and overtime.  Safety Gibril Wilson led the way for the Giants on defense with 8 tackles.  Cornerback Corey Webster only had three tackles but he also had the big interception of Brett Favre in overtime to set up kicker Lawrence Tynes for the game winning kick.  The Packers finished up with 28 yards rushing on 14 carries (2.0 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 35 passes for 236 yards.

    heres a rhyme i wrote

based on “I GET MONEY” beat
    “New York Giants”
New York Giants, new york giants, we did it, new york giants

    [Chorus]
NY Giants, we run New York (we did it)
ny giants, we run New York (we did it)
NY Giants, we run New York (we did it)

    We the New York Giants
Comin through when it’s do or die
Teams talkin trash but winning is our reply
U know we unstoppable like Eli
Plaxico’s so tall, corners can’t see eye to eye
Struggled a lot but we never quit
    Haters talkin all that bullshit
Said we couldn’t win but we did it
Sorry Romo, Sorry Brett, Sorry T.O.
But we the ones in the Super Bowl!
    Time to pop that cork
    We run New York!
    We the New York Giants
    chorus

U can’t stop Bradshaw or Brandon
We gettin sacks with Osi and Strahan
Don’t care much about T.O.’s ankle
or bout Jessica SImpson and Romo
Thanks Jessica for takin him to Mexico
Hope u enjoyed Eli’s touchdown to Plaxico
No one gave us a chance
But all we do is win and advance
Everyone knows how tough we play
Just ask tampa, dallas, and green bay
Haters said we can’t win without Tiki
And that we dead when we lost Shockey
But our team makin winning look easy
Critics said that our QB sucked
and that we would run out of luck
But u haters gettin bulldozed like a linebacker after a block from Hedgecock
QBs goin down from a sack by Justin Tuck
Cuz no one open thanks to Webster and Ross
Play against us, get ready for a loss
Cuz this team tight to the end like Kevin Boss
After every sack, u know Strahan be balllllllin
Much love to the whole team and Coach Coughlin

We the we the New York Giants
Road Warriors, makin the home crowd go silent
cuz we the we the New York Giants
U can be home, we’ll be the guests
    Road warriors, we the best
We run New York like Hova
Now we goin to beat the Pats in Arizona
    We the New York Giants
    chorus

Something I thought that may interest your readers regarding Super Bowl predictions and vantage points…

TAKKLE.com, a social-networking site for high school athletes, launched a new content feature yesterday called “Throwdowns”. These voting based “battles” are decided by our users who mainly consist of high school aged athletes and fans. It offers a unique form of relevant content to the Super Bowl by providing the insight from the high school demographic. It also allows your readers to participate, if so desired, in the voting process.

If you have any questions at all or want an embed code for the “Throwdown” just let me know.
