New York Giants 31, Atlanta Falcons 10
The Giants completely dominated the Falcons last night. Eli Manning led the way as he completed 27 of 39 passes for 303 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 interceptions. Reuben Droughns had his best game as a Giant as he carried the ball 14 times for 90 yards (6.4 ypc) with a TD run. Brandon Jacobs also did some heavy lifting in the running game as he carried the ball 13 times for 86 yards (6.6 ypc). Derrick Ward also got a little work as he carried the ball 8 times for 12 yards (1.5 ypc) with a TD run. Manning did a good job of spreading the football around so the Falcons couldn’t key on anyone. Plaxico Burress led the way with 6 catches for 97 yards (16.2 avg) with a TD. Amani Toomer also had a solid game with 7 grabs for 89 yards (12.7 avg) with a TD grab. TE Jeremy Shockey also made some big catches as he caught 5 passes for 63 yards (12.6 avg). The Giants had possession of the football for an amazing 39:38 of this football game and it was a big reason for the ease of the victory last night. The Giants ran the ball 35 times for 188 yards (5.4 ypc) and they also completed 27 of 39 passes for 303 yards.
MLB Antonio Pierce led the way for the Giants defense with 8 tackles and a sack. The Giants were all over Joey Harrington as they sacked him 4 times last night. The Falcons rushed for 103 yards on 15 carries (6.9 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 39 passes for 181 yards.
