The over/under for Giants wins is 9.  The Giants are currently 16-1 to win the Super Bowl and 9-1 to win the NFC.

Save your cash, I project 9 victories for the Giants in the rugged NFC East.

Giants look dominant on defense in 13-7 victory over Jets

The Giants simply pushed the Jets weak offense around the whole game.  The only points the Jets scored were on a blocked punt return for a TD in the 4th quarter.  The Giants only gave up 74 yards rushing on 19 carries (3.9 ypc).  The Jets only completed 45.2% of their passes for a 110 yards net passing.

The Giants offense hogged the ball for 36:28 of the game.  The Giants ran the ball 39 times for 138 yards (3.5 ypc).  The Giants were led by Tiki Barber who ran the ball 11 times for 60 yards.  Brandon Jacobs carried the ball 11 times for 29 yards and a TD.

The Giants didn’t do too well throwing the ball.  Eli Manning completed 10 of 20 yards for 107 yards and a pick-off.  Jared Lorenzen was the only other QB to play, thus solidifying his role as the #2 QB.  Lorenzen completed 7 of 12 passes for 50 yards.

Would the #2 QB please stand up?

It seems as if no one wants the job of backing up Eli Manning.   No quarterback has stood up and none of them has thrown a TD pass in the pre-season.  The pecking order has changed a little since camp started as it seems that Jared Lorenzen has overtaken Tim Hasselbeck as the #2 QB.  The QB numbers are not pretty.

Jared Lorenzen has completed 7 of 12 passes (58.3%) for 58 yards and a QB rating of 70.8.  Tim Hasselbeck has completed 7 of 13 passes (53.8%) for 79 yards and a QB rating of 72.3.  Rob Johnson, who has been out of the NFL for two years, has completed 7 of 14 passes (50.0%) for 62 yards and a QB rating of 62.2.

Giants fans should pray every night that nothing happens to Eli Manning.

The Giants have looked real good so far

The Giants have really looked dominant in the pre-season.  The Giants have only allowed 16 points in their two victories.  The Giants have rushed for an average of 111.0 yards per game rushing, but are only averaging 3.4 yards per carry.  The Giants have been accurate on their passes, completing 60.0% of them, but only for 160.0 yards per game.

The defense has been awesome.  The run defense is allowing 88.5 yards rushing per game on 4.1 yards per carry.  The pass defense is holding the opposition to only 106.5 yards per game!

Giants look dominant in win on Thursday

The 17-0 final score doesn’t tell the whole story.  The Giants ran a perfectly balanced offense as they rushed 36 times for 154 yards and netted 155 yards passing completing 21 of 32 attempts.  Eli Manning looked sharp completing 11 of 14 passes for 80 yards and a TD.  Rob Johnson got his helmet out of mothballs and completed 7 of 14 passes for 62 yards.  Brandon Jacobs played like a madman, rushing 9 times for 40 yards and a TD.  Amani Toomer caught Manning’s TD pass, it was a five-yarder.

The defense was awesome.  The Giants held the Chiefs to 40 yards rushing on 17 carries.  The Chiefs only completed 13 of 24 passes for a net of 71 yards passing.  Awesome game for the defense.
